PEBBELL v2 Full Manual
Your personal alarm and location tracker
The amazing PEBBELL concept
The PEBBELL is a personal tracking device that combines roaming GSM (mobile communication) and GPS (satellite-based navigation) technologies and is the size of a key fob. It has a fall down monitor and an SOS button for emergences. It can also transmit its location by SMS or continually by GPRS data connection.
The device has a built-in 8MB flash memory. It will store the GPS information when the GPRS connection is lost (e.g. in underground areas). The device will transmit the stored GPS locations to the location server (PEBBELL.net) automatically once the GPRS network is reconnected.
PS0: In power saving mode the GPS and GSM are on all the time. The battery can last 18 ~ 24 hours.
PS1: In smart power (power saving) mode, which is default, the GSM chip is always on and can receive calls, SMS and transmit location on request. The GPS chip is activated by motion, incoming calls and SMS. The GPS chip is off if there is no movement or phone usage. The battery life is not wasted when there is no movement. Under normal use the battery can last 3 ~ 7 days.
DS1: In Deep sleep mode, both the GSM and GPS chips will shut down to save power, the device is unable to receive calls or SMS. It can be only activated by movement. Once movement is detected, it will run for the set time (default 3 minutes) and sleep again if no movement is detected. In this mode the battery can last 40 days if no movement at all.
Reply: GPRS on!
For real-time tracking send the command S2 to start the GPRS data connection to PEBBELL.ONLINE location server.
Reply: LED off
To turn off the LED’s, send the command LED1. The device will reply “LED off” and the LEDs will stop flashing. The device however will remain on.
To turn on the LED’s, send the command LED0. The device will reply “LED on” and the LEDs will start flashing.
To indicate an incoming phone call the PEBBELL will vibrate and play the ringtone. To accept the incoming phone call press the SOS button. To end the call, press the SOS button.
To reboot the device send the command REBOOT. The device will reset its self without changing any settings .
The device comes with a preset default password of 123456. To enable password protection of the device, send the SMS command 123456lock.
When password protection has been enabled, a password is required in front of all commands, for example 123456loc, 123456A1 etc.
To disable password protection, send the SMS command 123456unlock.
Customers are advised that once password protection has been enabled that they change their password from the default value.
To change the password of the device, send the SMS command for example 123456H12Ab34 (where 123456 is the old password and 12Ab34 is the new password). All passwords are six characters long and any combination of letters and numbers.
The password is now changed to 12Ab34.
Please remember when password protection has been enabled, a password is required in front of all commands, for example 12Ab34loc, 12Ab34A1 etc.
